Fuel tanks for construction machines

Mixing of warm fuel reflowing from a common rail (13) of a power source (12) and cool fuel may lead to undesired temperatures of the fuel supplied to the common rail (13). The disclosed apparatus and method may prevent mixing of the warm and cool fuel which may lead to desired temperatures of the fuel supplied to the common rail (13). The disclosed fuel tank (100; 200) may comprise a first fuel compartment (110), a second fuel compartment (120) disposed above the first fuel compartment (110), and a fluid passage (116) configured to fluidly connect the first fuel compartment (110) to the second fuel compartment (120).
