"textContent": "An object is to provide a control device and a control method for an idle stop system capable of promptly restarting an engine even when a restart request is issued before pre-mesh. In the idle stop system, the engine is stopped when an idle stop condition is satisfied during engine operation. When a restart request is issued, a pinion 103 of a starter motor 105 is meshed with a ring gear 104 which is connected to a crank shaft of the engine to start cranking to thereby restart the engine. A control device 108 pre-rotates the pinion 103 of the starter motor 105 during an inertial rotation period of the engine until the engine stops. When a restart request of the engine is issued after the termination of pre-rotation energization of the starter motor 103, the pinion 103 of the starter is additionally pre-rotated. Thereafter, the pinion is meshed with the ring gear 104 to start cranking to thereby restart the engine.",
