Reducing a time-varying undesired magnetic field in a passenger compartment of a vehicle includes a magnetic field source for transmitting time-varying currents resulting in the time-varying undesired magnetic field in the passenger compartment including a selected region suitable for presence of people; a sensor for detecting the time-varying undesired magnetic field and to provide sensing data; a magnetic field generator for generating a time-varying cancellation magnetic field in the selected region; a circuit for receiving the associated sensing data; determining the time-varying cancellation magnetic field from the associated sensing data; and transmitting signals to the magnetic field generator to thereby generate the time-varying cancellation magnetic field for at least reducing the time-varying undesired magnetic field.",
