Operation control device and method for controlling the operation of a lighting arrangement with emergency lighting

The operation control device (10) has a storage capacitor (36) for supplying the emergency light (43) with electrical power. A charging circuit (35) is connected to the storage capacitor through a converter (20) which is galvanic-separated to the mains voltage (UN), for charging the storage capacitor. A control unit (25) is arranged to control the charging circuit depending on the state of charge of the storage capacitor. Another converter (42) is connected between the storage capacitor and the emergency light. An independent claim is included for a method for operating operation control device.
