A head-up display device (), comprising a housing including a front wall (), a rear wall and two opposing side walls connecting the side edges of the front wall () and the rear wall, and a covering wall (), each of said walls including an upper edge (),—the covering wall () being connected to the upper edges of the front, rear and side walls so as to cover the internal cavity of the housing (),—wherein said walls each include a lower edge opposite their upper edge, and at least one of the front (), and/or rear and/or side walls comprise a frangible portion () arranged so as to allow the covering wall () to be moved closer to one of the lower edges by breaking said frangible portion.
