Lubricant collector

The piston-cylinder unit (2) has a cylinder (20) with a cylinder jacket (17) limiting the cylinder internal space (18), and a piston with a piston lateral surface (4), a piston upper side (5) and a piston lower side (6). A lubricant collector (7) is arranged in the piston body (8). The lubricant collector has a recess (11) on the piston lateral surface and a channel (9) for receiving the lubricant-containing gas (10). The channel is connected to the recess in the piston body such that the lubricant-containing gas is discharged into a reservoir through the channel in an operating state. An independent claim is included for a large engine with a telescopic tube.
