Method and device for aligning a head up display projector

The method involves determining the position of a projector in a vehicle by a gauge, where the position of the projector is determined using a built-in windshield. The projector is placed on the gauge, particularly a relative position of the projector (14) is determined from the windshield by the gauge. An actual position of the projector is determined by a laser (18), particularly by two or multiple lasers that are placed on the gauge. A light beam is emitted from the laser in a desired location with a reference point (19), which is arranged in the vehicle. An independent claim is included for a device for aligning a head-up display projector mounted in a vehicle for displaying information on a windshield.
