Separator for rechargeable lithium battery and rechargeable lithium battery including the same

Provided are a separator for a lithium rechargeable battery that includes a porous substrate; and a coating layer disposed on at least one side of the porous substrate and including organic particles and a binder polymer, wherein the organic particles and the binder polymer are different materials from each other, and a lithium rechargeable battery including the same. A method of preparing the separator is also provided.
