Cleaning device and method for cleaning the interiors of vehicles

The device has a radiation device (10) i.e. LED, emitting radiation i.e. UV radiation, in a predetermined wavelength range of about 150 to 350 Nm. A fastening device (12) fixes the radiation device in the vehicle interior (22) such that the radiation emitted by the radiation device is directed onto a furnishing (14) i.e. seat, of the vehicle interior and/or into the vehicle interior to disinfect the furnishing and/or air present in the vehicle interior. A radiation sensor (18) is arranged in the vehicle interior to detect the radiation emitted by the radiation device. An independent claim is also included for a method for cleaning the interior of a vehicle.
