The hybrid construction machine includes: an electric storage device temperature adjustment circuit 13; an engine cooling circuit 11 that cools an engine 1 with a first coolant and is capable of switching between a state in which the first coolant after cooling the engine is introduced into the electric storage device temperature adjustment circuit 13 and a state in which the introduction of the first coolant into the electric storage device temperature adjustment circuit 13 is stopped; an equipment cooling circuit 12 that cools, with a second coolant, equipment that needs cooling, and that is capable of switching between a state in which the second coolant is introduced into the electric storage device temperature adjustment circuit 13 and a state in which the introduction of the second coolant into the electric storage device temperature adjustment circuit 13 is stopped; and a controller 17 that controls the operation of the engine cooling circuit 11, the equipment cooling circuit 12 and a lead-out switching valve 19 in such a manner that the first coolant or the second coolant selectively flows through the electric storage device temperature adjustment circuit 13, according to whether the electric storage device 6 needs to be warmed up or cooled.",
