The arrangement (2) comprises a helical spring (3) and a retaining unit (4). The retaining unit is engaged with the helical spring, such that the helical spring is shortened axially against a relaxed initial length. The retaining unit has a non-adjustable length with the coil spring in the connected state. The helical spring has a primary end portion (7) and a secondary end portion (8). The windings (10) are provided between the two end portions. The retaining unit is engaged between the two end portions that are located with the windings. An independent claim is included for a method for mounting a helical spring.
