Provided are: an additive for position electrodes, which is capable of increasing the output of a lithium secondary battery and is capable of maintaining cycle characteristics even during high-speed charge and discharge and a positive electrode for lithium secondary batteries. The additive is an additive for positive electrodes of lithium secondary batteries, which contains, as an essential constituent, a substituted polythiophene (P) that has a repeating unit (D), which is obtained by substituting a hydrogen atom in the 3-position and/or in the 4-position of a thiophene ring with at least one group (f) that in selected from the group consisting of a perfluoroalkylalkoxy group (f1), a perfluoroalkoxy group (f2), a perfluoroalkoxyalkyl group (f3) and an alkyl group (f4) substituted with the group (f1), as at least a part of a thiophene repeating unit.
