A current collector wherein Layer a comprising electrically conductive particles such as electrically conductive carbon; a binding agent such as chitosan, chitin and the like; and organic acid such as trimellitic anhydride, pyromellitic anhydride, 1,2,3,4-butanetetracarboxylic acid and the like is provided on one or both surfaces of a metal foil such as an aluminum foil, a copper foil and the like, and the coverage of the electrically conductive particles is 50 to 100%, and the thickness of the Layer a is 5 µm or less. An electrode wherein Layer b comprising an electrode active material is provided on a surface having the Layer a of the current collector. An electrochemical element comprising the electrode.
