Method for synchronising a generator with a grid

The method involves increasing a generator speed from a value corresponding to a frequency lying below a mains frequency to a synchronization speed corresponding to a value of the mains frequency plus/minus a maximum allowed frequency difference for synchronization. A waiting process is performed until a phase angle between phase voltages of a three-phase generator (10) and three-phase mains (11), which are assigned to each other, undershoots a predefined value. The generator is connected to the mains by switching on of a generator switch (13).
