The system has an illuminating fabric (204) whose screen (206) is flexible and comprises a regular fiber assembly or interwoven thread assembly, where a portion of the fiber or thread assembly is reflecting threads. Ends (208) of the threads are projected from the screen. The projected ends of the threads are terminated by light input portions (210). A lighting surface (214) of a light source (212) is extended with respect to the light input portions. The projected ends of the threads and the lighting surface are embedded in a molding material (110) of a lighting number plate (100). The light source is made of a LED.
