ACOUSTIC ABSORBER

The sound absorber has a perforated film (1) made from metal, where the perforated film is provided with a perforation. The film has holes (3) of the perforation with a hole diameter (d) between 0.5 millimeter and 1 millimeter. The hole diameter of the perforation is constant. The perforation is formed in grid shape, particularly in regular grid shape. The film is composed of multiple partial films that are welded or seamed with each other. An insulating body has woven fabric with fibers such as silica fibers, glass fibers or ceramic fibers. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing a sound absorber for absorption of sound of a combustion engine.
