Device for sound attenuation

The device has intermediate controllable throttle valve arranged between gas inlet and gas outlet. The throttle valve is controlled in dependence on the pressure at the gas inlet. The throttle valve has a hollow cylindrical valve main portion having several axially juxtaposed discharge openings on outer surface and bearing locking element.
