The present invention relates to an end plate assembly for a fuel cell stack, comprising: - a carrier structure (12) to provide mechanical load transmission, and - at least one insulating structure (14) at least partially covering a front side (42) of the carrier structure (12) to face towards at least one fuel cell (1), wherein the insulating structure (14) and the carrier structure (12) are inseparably engaged.
