Measuring device for measuring a distance to a target object

DRIVE June 26, 2013
Source
The device has a radiation source (22) for emitting a transmission beam (8) i.e. red laser beam. A detector (23) receives a reception beam (9), which is reflected and/or scattered by a target object (4). A beam splitting optic (25) deflects the transmission and/or reception beams. A beam shaping optic (24) shapes the transmission and/or reception beams. An optic carrier (27) i.e. metal body, comprises a wafer (31) for retaining the radiation source and the detector and another wafer (32) for retaining the beam splitting optic and/or the beam shaping optic. The radiation source is designed as a laser diode. The detector is designed as a photodiode. The beam splitting optic is designed as a polarization beam splitter.
