The seat (1) has an additional vehicle driver's torso support device (8) that is placed outside the seat portion. A seat back is temporarily placed in other seat-free torso support region (9) in front of seat back portion (3). The additional vehicle driver's torso support device is provided with a seat back extension device (4) placed on seat back portion, so as to be movable in translation along a horizontal axis. The torso support device is moved horizontally from approximately central starting position into an off-center additional torso support position. An independent claim is included for a commercial vehicle.
