Texturing of a reinforcing cord for a pneumatic tire

A method for forming an adhesion joint between a cord and a rubber matrix is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of providing a cord having an initial surface; texturing the initial surface such that the resulting surface is rougher than the initial surface; and inserting the cord into a rubber matrix. Also, a pneumatic tire or another article of manufacture comprising a reinforcing structure reinforced with a cord is disclosed. The cord has a surface modified for increasing adherence of the cord to a rubber matrix.
