Device and method for reducing glare

The device (100) has a shaded panel (102), which has multiple individual shaded cells and which is arranged between a position of a driver and a light source (110). An optical sensor (101) is equipped to detect an image of the eye of the driver. A calculation unit (104) is formed to control the shaded panel based on the image of the multiple cells detected by the optical sensor such that a shadow (111) is projected on the eyes of the driver. An independent claim is included for a method for reducing the glare of a light source on the eyes of a driver of a vehicle.
