Device for a safety system of a motor vehicle with an autonomous electronics system which is independent of the motor vehicle

The control unit (30) has an autonomous electronic unit (10) brought in signal connection with a drive (20) for movement of a locking element (21), which block a steering column. The electronic unit comprises a safety interface (11) to provide an operational parameter (B) e.g. vehicle velocity and/or engine speed, of a motor car to a decision unit (12) integrated in the electronic unit. An event parameter (E) e.g. trigger point, is read in the decision unit. The decision unit performs activation of the drive depending on the operational parameter and in a presence of the event parameter. An independent claim is also included for a method for providing a driving authority control unit.
