Insert for a dashboard

The insert (2) has a recessed storage chamber (5) provided with a separate covering element (6) for partially surrounding a portion of a docking device, where the insert forms a holder in the form of a cover (7). The cover partially covers the insert between a non-use position and a use position in which the cover of the insert is pivoted out. A rear side of the cover forms a pivotable actual holder, and a storage region and region of the docking device form a common outer edge (9) of the insert. A device holder includes a holding unit that is rotatably formed opposite to a cover.
