  "textContent": "A heavy duty tire (1) comprises a tread portion (2) provided with belt plies (7) and circumferentially-extending main grooves (10), wherein a shoulder rib area (Ys) between the axially outermost shoulder main groove (10s) and a tread edge (Te) is subdivided by a sub groove (11) into an axially inner main rib zone (12) and an axially outer sub rib zone (13); the main rib zone is provided with a high elastic modulus rubber layer (15) extending along the axially outer edge of the main rib zone to form a part of the tread face and made of rubber having an elastic-modulus higher than that of rubber forming the tread face except for said part of the tread face; the axial width (W1a) of the high elastic modulus rubber layer (15) is 0.3 to 0.6 times the axial width (W1) of the main rib zone; the thickness (Ta) of the high elastic modulus rubber layer (15) is 0.1 to 0.5 times a radial distance (T) from the axially outer edge (12e) of the main rib zone to the axial edge of a widest belt ply (7B)second to a radially innermost belt ply; an average ground pressure (P1A) of the high elastic modulus rubber layer (15) is in a range of 0.85 to 0.95 times an average ground pressure (P1B) of the crown area.",
