Catalyst coating and method for its production
DRIVE

Catalyst coating comprises electrocatalytically active components based on ruthenium oxide and titanium oxide and optionally one or more metallic doping elements, where the ruthenium oxide and titanium oxide are predominantly present as ruthenium dioxide and titanium dioxide in rutile form, and the ruthenium dioxide and titanium dioxide are predominantly present as mixed oxide phase. An independent claim is included for a process for electrochemically producing the catalyst coating comprising applying the catalyst coating in a layer to an electrically conductive support material, where the layer is applied to the support by means of an electrochemical process via the precipitation of ruthenium and titanium from an acidic aqueous solution containing at least ruthenium salts and titanium salts as hydroxo precursors, where the support is connected as cathode, and subsequently subjecting the formed layer comprising hydroxo compounds to thermal treatment at a temperature of at least 300[deg] C to form the catalyst coating.
