The control unit includes a regulation unit (10) for regulating deceleration of the shaft to determine degree of the opening of valves for supplying fuel from the speed of the shaft and the temperature at the exhaust of the turbine. A storing unit i.e. memory (6), stores an ideal profile for deceleration of the shaft. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling stopping of a gas turbine.",
