Gas turbine engine gearbox mount
DRIVE
February 20, 2013
A gas turbine engine accessory mount (50) comprises a bracket (55) fixedly attached to the engine's case (22), a link (75) adapted for connection to the accessory (40) and bracket (55) and a fastener (70) such as a pin disposed with a frangible fuse bushing (85). The pin (70) and fuse bushing (85) are received within aligned apertures in the link (75) and bracket (55) such that deflections and distortions of the engine case (22) due to abnormal operating conditions of the engine such as a rotor imbalance due to separation of a blade therefrom, result in a shearing of the fuse bushing (85) thereby dissipating energy associated with the case deflections and distortions and isolating the fastener (70), link (75) and accessory (40) from the case deflections and distortions.
