Multi-function glove box assembly with a lighting device

The assembly has a retractable shelf (3) equipped with a movable lighting device (2). The lighting device slides between a sunken position in which the lighting device illuminates an interior part of a glove compartment and an extracted position in which the lighting device illuminates an outer side of the glove compartment. The lighting device comprises a strip light comprising a light source, a light guide placed inside the strip light and a set of diodes arranged inside and over length of the strip light. A sleeve (11) receives the strip light, and is located parallel to the shelf.
