A navigation device according to the present invention includes a storage unit (12), which stores map information, a position detecting unit (13), which detects a position of a moving body, a controller (10), which generates drawing data where the map information stored in the storage unit (12) and the position of the moving body are superimposed, and a display unit (17), which includes a plurality of backlights, and displays the drawing data generated at the controller (10) with a screen irradiated by the backlights. The controller (10) controls the plurality of the backlights such that luminance of backlights that are arranged to irradiate a second region 42 that is other region than a first region are lower than luminance of backlights that are arranged to irradiate the first region corresponding to a traveling direction of the moving body.
