When the temperature of the exhaust purification device 30 is lower than a predetermined threshold value, the engine system 1 shuts off the EGR passage 16 with the shutoff valve 163. Further, when an output of the engine 100 is smaller than a predetermined value, the engine system 1 increases the amount of fuel injection from injectors 17 while reducing the degree of valve opening of a diesel throttle 19 in accordance with an increase in the amount of exhaust gas flowing into a turbocharger 14. When the output of the engine 100 is equal to or greater than the predetermined value, on the other hand, the engine system 1 increases the degree of opening of a variable nozzle vane mechanism 141 of the turbocharger 14.",
