Motor vehicle with reduced noise emissions

The motor car has an injection pump to regulate an operation of a motor by switching an electronics unit. The free or additional data storage areas are used by electronics unit in noise-reduced mode such that the rail pressure is lowered, injection is deferred to a later time, and/or the greater volume of subsets is provided in fuel metering. The fuel consumption of the motor is temporarily increased while the power and rotation speed of the motor is maintained constantly, for reducing the sound emission from the drive and/or motor in the noise-reduced mode.
