Starter for a combustion engine

The starter (1) has electric drive motor (6) and transmission. A gear component (9) e.g. plastic construction component is supported on a housing-side support portion (11). The front end of the gear component is made to rest on slip clutch at front end of the housing-side support portion. The gear component carries out relative rotational movement with respect to the housing-side support portion when limit torque is exceeded. The gear component is provided with helical gear (10,12).
