APPARATUS FOR RECOVERING ENGINE EXHAUST GAS ENERGY
DRIVE
September 11, 2013
An object is to meet the inboard power demand without activating, as far as possible, a diesel engine (auxiliary engine) having fuel efficiency inferior to that of a marine diesel engine (main engine), thereby reducing the total running cost. When the degree-of-opening of a gas-inlet control valve (V1) reaches a predetermined threshold and the amount of power generated by a generator (11) is smaller than the amount of power needed in the ship, a control command to delay fuel-injection timing and/or a control command to advance exhaust-valve opening timing are output from a control unit (23) to an engine body (2) according to the difference between the amount of power generated by the generator (11) and the amount of power needed in the ship.
