An arrangement for supply of electric power within a track-bound electric vehicle (101) comprises a direct voltage source, a converter (106, 109) configured to convert said direct voltage to an alternating voltage and conversely and a control unit (107, 110) configured to control said converter. The converter (106, 109) is of the multi-level type having for each phase leg a series connection of switching cells including energy storing capacitors.
