Optical observation device for target detection and target tracking

The device i.e. binocular laser rangefinder-field glasses (1), has an integrated target detection module with an optoelectronic rangefinder. A microcomputer unit computes and stores removal and location coordinates of a sighted target point. An integrated target guide module has a display (7) to represent global positioning system position coordinates of the device, electronic compass data and the location coordinates of a target point computed vector and current target distance. Actuating elements e.g. pressure switches, are arranged at a housing for activation of functions of the modules. An independent claim is also included for a method for detection and guidance of a target object.
