The tipping frame (5) comprises a rail (13) extending transversely with respect to the longitudinal direction of the tipping frame (5). The device also comprises a container clamp (12) for fixing a container (1) to the tipping frame (5). The clamp (12) is movable along the rail (13). The clamp (12) comprises a notch (19, 23) and a ridge (20, 22) and the rail (13) comprises a sensor for detecting a distance to determine the proximity of the notch (19, 23) and the ridge (20, 22) when the clamp (12) is at different positions along the rail (13) so as to detect the relative position of the clamp (12) and the rail (13).",
