The arrangement of driven gears on a countershaft in a main speed change mechanism is shortened in an axial direction, whereby the main speed change mechanism can be made compact in the axial direction. Driven gears 39b to 42b on a countershaft 38 of a main speed change mechanism 9 are successively arranged from front to rear in descending order of speed. A sub-low-speed drive gear 46 for a sub-speed change mechanism 10 is provided in front of the highest-speed driven gear 42b on the countershaft 38, and the next-highest-speed driven gear 41b serves as a sub-high-speed drive gear for the sub-speed change mechanism 10. A sub-low-speed driven gear 48 and a sub-high-speed driven gear 49 for the sub-speed change mechanism 10 are provided on an output shaft 47 to be engaged with the sub-low-speed drive gear 46 and the next-highest-speed driven gear 41b, respectively, and the highest-speed driven gear 42b, the sub-low-speed drive gear 46, and the next-highest-speed driven gear 41b are caused to overlap in a fore-and-aft direction.
