Method for managing a particle filter

The method involves correcting estimation (14) of production of particles by a correction factor (31) that is determined according to a discriminating gap between a proportion of regenerations triggered by closed-loop load estimator (13) and a theoretical proportion of regenerations of the filter, where the regenerations are started by the estimator by considering a median value of facility parameter (7). A dead zone is associated with a relation providing theoretical proportion of regenerations that are started by the estimator according to the median value of the parameter.
