Internal combustion engine with two exhaust manifolds
DRIVE
July 31, 2013
The unit (1) has an internal combustion engine (2) e.g. petrol engine, from which a high pressure exhaust manifold (9) emerges out for supplying fuel to an exhaust line (11). The line includes a turbine (12) for a turbo compressor. A low pressure exhaust manifold (10) emerging from the engine supplies fuel to an exhaust gas recirculation line (14) that includes a dihydrogen production catalytic device (18). A recirculation gas heater (20) and a recirculation gas cooler (21) are placed in the recirculation line in upstream and downstream of the catalytic device, respectively.
