Backup electrical power generator for an aircraft, aircraft and related method

The emergency electric power generation assembly (24) has an emergency electricity generator (60) connectible to the electric network (20) of an aircraft (10). The assembly is controllable between an inactive rest configuration in which the generator is inactive and an active configuration in which the generator delivers emergency electric energy to the network. The assembly can be also placed in an intermediate standby configuration electrically powered by the network so that the generator produces standby electric energy with power less than the power in the active configuration. An independent claim is also included for a method for generating electricity in an aircraft.
