The device has front and rear pneumatic braking systems (6, 7) acting on front and rear brake actuators (8a-11a, 8b-11b), respectively, and operating under nominal pneumatic operating pressure and nominal operating pressure, respectively. A double cut-off valve (24) connects the system (7) to the system (6) to prevent a pneumatic passage of the system (7) towards the system (6) when the circuit (6) operates at the nominal operating pressure and to authorize the passage of the system (7) towards the system (6) when the circuit (6) operates at pressure lower than the nominal operating pressure.
