METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING FUEL TANK LEAKS, AND APPARATUS APPLYING SAME

The present invention presents a diagnostic method for leaks in fuel tanks and a device applying this method. The diagnostic method for leaks in fuel tanks according to the present invention is designed such that the pressure in the fuel tank of a vehicle in operation is adjusted to the leak diagnostic pressure in the fuel tank, and such that a leak diagnosis for the fuel tank can be performed directly upon stopping of the vehicle. Therefore, the present invention can adjust the pressure in the fuel tank of a vehicle to the leak diagnostic pressure of the fuel tank before stopping of the vehicle and simply diagnose whether there is a leak in the fuel tank or not, even when situations occur in which the vehicle stops, but for example cannot transition into the state corresponding to the stopped vehicle, or the accuracy of the diagnosis needs to be increased. A leak diagnosis for the fuel tank can be performed.
