A bipolar lead acid battery and a method of manufacturing

A bipolar lead acid battery (1) comprises first and second terminal electrodes (2, 3) and a plurality of bipolar cells (4) which are disposed between the first and second electrodes (2, 3). The battery (1) also comprises separators (11) for receiving an electrolyte which are disposed between neighboring bipolar cells (4) and between the first and second electrodes (2, 3) and respective neighboring bipolar cells (4). The battery (1) is compressed to a pressure of 20 - 100 N/cm 2 .
