The cell (4) has elementary cells stacks (1, 2) mounted electrically in a parallel and modular manner in order to allow an electric power level supplied by the cell to be adapted by adapting the number of stacks present in the cell. A cooling circuit (5) includes multiple legs (15, 25) fluidically arranged in parallel for selectively cooling of the stacks by heat exchange with a heat-conveying liquid that is selectively circulated in the cooling circuit. The cooling circuit comprises respective pumps (11, 12) that are structurally connected to one of the corresponding stacks.
