A circuit for disabling an electric device stuck in an active state. The circuit includes a first input for receiving a first actuation signal from an external device and a second input for receiving a second actuation signal from a microcontroller. An output path is connected to the first input and the second input and transmits the first actuation signal and the second actuation signal to the electric device. A grounding path transmits the first actuation signal and the second actuation signal to ground. A first transistor is disposed on the grounding path and is configured to be activated by a first voltage potential. A first latching circuit is coupled to the battery and is configured to receive the pulsed signal from the microcontroller and ground the first actuation signal and the second actuation signal along the grounding path so as to disable the electric device.
