Thanks to the carbon matrix, the catalysts provided herein can be corrosion resistant, self-healing, more cost-effective, and can have higher catalytic activity. The synthesis of the catalyst and its properties can furthermore be improved compared to catalysts formed from a complex including a chelating.",
