An independent claim is also included for extracting energy from biomass, comprising (i) obtaining process gas from biomass by the pyrolysis- or gasification device, (ii) obtaining heat and electric energy from at least one portion of the process gas by the cogeneration plant, (iii) separating methane from the process gas by a separation device, and (iv) supplying residual gas to the cogeneration plant for the extraction of energy after the deposition of methane from the process gas.",
