Hydrostatic traction drive and vehicle with such a traction drive

The drive (1) has a hydropump (18) for driving four hydromotors (10-16) connected as pairs in series. A control valve (63) is arranged between two of the hydromotors arranged in series, and connects two pressure medium flow paths (61, 62). A valve device (56) diverts a pressure medium volume flow extracted from the respective pressure medium flow path between the two hydromotors arranged in series to a pressure medium sink (T) to bypass the respective downstream hydromotor. A set of wheels (2-8) is allocated to each hydromotor. The control valve is a proportional directional valve.
