Connecting apparatus for towing vehicles

Described is a connecting apparatus (1) for towing vehicles, comprising a frame (4) comprising a pair of uprights (2); a pair of guides (7) each associated with a relative upright (2); a slide (5) slidable along the guide (7) for moving at least along a substantially vertical direction of sliding, the slide (5) being fixable to a hook for connecting a trailer; locking means (8) associated with the slide (5) for locking it in a plurality of positions along the guide (7); a tape spring (9) connected to the frame (4) and to the slide (5) for balancing the weight of the slide (5).
